Businessman Perkin Hoyt is a victim of the great recession and a long trail of bad luck. He can't even get an appointment, much less a loan, from the bank where he's conducted business for the past thirty years.

Meanwhile, across town disbarred attorney Alfie Costello purchases a 'hot' laptop in a midnight parking lot transaction. Alfie sells the laptop the following morning to handyman Christy Keenan. Unfortunately for Christy the laptop comes with all sorts of attachments; schemer and scammer Dallas Gornik, the inept Lewis brothers, hitman Morris Carney and crabby retired priest Father Owen Gillings.

An insane journey of comic ineptness and gonzo plans eventually joins Perkin and Christy as two of the more 'sane' individuals in another one of Mike Faricy's bizarre worlds. It's truly the End of the Line, the question is for whom? Nonstop fun all along this enjoyable, page turning tale. A must read!

I just reread this earlier book by Mike Faricy, and now that I have read his most recent works. I can see him setting a style in this book. His characters are richly described, (one man will give me nightmares) and the story of a clever bank robbery becomes a suspenseful tale you can't stop reading...yes, there is a hero, sort of...the details of the fights, the damage to people's faces, and the evilness of a man, all make for exciting reading...

End Of The Line edition by Mike Faricy Romance eBooks Reviews

I really like the Dev Haskell novels, this one was pretty lame. I thought several times about putting it down but kept hoping it would get better.
End of the Line is reminiscent of Mickey Spillane meets Garrison Keillor's Guy Noir, but only more gruesome and R-rated. It is an engaging tale that takes place in my hometown, St. Paul, MN. With cleverly written scenes and characters, the humor will make you smile and occasionally, chuckle. And in some cases, cringe. In one scene, the olfactory description literally nauseated me. The credit belongs to author, Mike Faricy, a talented writer with an intriguing background which lends itself well to telling this entertaining yarn. "Loose ends" is a recurring theme throughout the book, but by the end, there are none. I have one word for you when you purchase this book at , Enjoy!
I have enjoyed Mike Faricy's Dev Haskell and Corridor Man series, so I was looking forward to reading this as well. I frequently devour the Dev Haskell and Corridor Man books (and look forward to the new Corridor Man due any day now). However, this I slogged through, just trying to get to the end to see how it would all tie together. There were too many characters/stories (at least two with similar names and/or backstories) to care about any of them; with the format choice of no chapters, the stories all ran together. Frequently, there would be a conversation with two characters and the very next sentence would be another character completely unrelated to the first two. But this may all be forgivable if not for the absolutely atrocious spelling. Mike Faircy needs to get an editor and not rely on spell-check as there were many misspellings (e.g., "waive" instead of "wave", "here" instead of "her", "party's" instead of "parties"). These types of misspellings appear in his other works, but because you actually care about those characters, it is easy to overlook. Here, it is all you can notice.
As always the story is always interesting and never boring. Keeps you on your toes to see what will happen next. Keep up the good writings Mike!!
cant go wrong with a faricy book
I am primarily a fan of the classic British mysteries so books of this type tend to be less "literary", but never the less entertaining. I tend to value the books on an "entertainment level for the price" and this series tends to fit the bill. I do find them slightly more violent then I like.
I love the stupidity of these characters. Mr. Faricy intersects their stories so well that it leaves you wondering about their final meeting. Of course they are all involved in shady deals which end up with disastrous results. It just leaves you shaking your head at their antics. Mr. Faricy's style reminds me of Elmore Leonard. Great story, very entertaining.
